Seeing Photographs Response

The three basic choices I believe to be most important before pressing the shudder on your camera are light, orientation, and cropping. The use of these three techniques combined can change your photograph entirely.

When attempting to change the light in your photos, it is important to focus on your surrounding, can you open or close the blinds? How does the sun or lights in the room affect the photo? Light in your photos can change tones and shadows throughout the picture.

Orientation on the other hand changes the way the viewer sees what you, as the photographer want them to see. For instance, if you want the viewer to see how tall something is in comparison to its background, the orientation will play a large role. Orientation allows you to recompose the image as you respond to the object or scene.

Lastly, the final technique that needs to be discusses is cropping. Arguably the most important technique used while photographing an image, cropping plays a huge role in the final product. Do you want an image to feel tight? The most important thing to think about when cropping an image is to make sure the cropping is not distracting from the original purpose of the image.

The effective use of the three techniques stated above will ensure success within your photographs, keeping them crisp and open to the eyes of the viewer.
